I first got Pokemon Blue in 1998 I believe. It was very exciting because I was just down town with my mum, helpin with some shoppin, and she asked me if there was anything I needed to get. Half jokingly and I suppose half hoping, I said "Well, Pokemon Blue!" and I laughed cos I was joking. However, she said, actually said, "yeah, why not."

Well, I nearly snapped my neck with the double take I made. She drove us to a car park and then we walked to Woolworths and she purchased it for me, making sure the woman who was serving us gave me my free Ash Ketchum poster. She wasn't going to at first. And so, explaining to her why she was the best mother in the world and telling her how wonderful she was, we went home and I jammed in the cartridge into my Game Boy and the rest is history.

Over the years, I have played my copy of Blue a lot, but only ever concentrating on raising my team (Vulpix, Onix, Venusaur, Pidgeot, Vaporeon and Cloyster), but never really trying to get all 151 pokemon that were available to me. Maybe I was just weird back then and my obsession tried to make it real or maybe I was just plain lazy. Anyway....

The reason I'm writing this is cos tonight I finally captured the 151st Pokemon I needed to complete the Pokedex. Thats a lot of months of collecting and trading and playing Pokemon Stadium umpteen upon umpteen times just to get an Omanyte so I could move on and get a Dratini and evolve it into Dragonair. Phew!

Its not an important thing to tell people about but there was something very sad about achieving this, as elating as it was to. It feels like,.....well, I'm not sure. I just had to write about it, let people know about it and get it out there for some reason I can't pin point right now. I think the best I can do is that Pokemon Blue is not just a game for me. There's other stuff there to.

Anyway, I won't go into it obviously, that'd be weird. I think I just needed to say it and let anyone know that I have finally collected 151 reasons that make me happy in life.
